Mwanza Airport is one of the key aviation hubs serving the Lake Zone region of Tanzania, handling both domestic and international air traffic. The reliability of fuel storage infrastructure at such a facility is critical to ensuring continuous airport operations and safe aircraft servicing.

LSM International Ltd was engaged by BP Tanzania (now PUMA Energy) to deliver the complete engineering solution for a Jet A1 above-ground fuel storage system. The project scope covered design integration, fabrication, installation and commissioning of the storage tank and associated systems.

The execution of this project required strict adherence to aviation fuel handling standards, precision engineering practices and a high level of safety compliance. Our team ensured that all components were correctly installed, aligned and tested to meet operational and regulatory requirements.

Scope of Work

  • Supply of all pipes, fittings and valves required for system integration
  • Fabrication and installation of the fuel storage tank and associated piping systems
  • Transportation, positioning and installation of pumps and mechanical components
  • Calibration of both the storage tank and dispensing pumps to ensure measurement accuracy
  • Fabrication and installation of protective pump sheds
